My mother, Elnora, became a resident at Serenity Home, October 14, 2009. Previously, January 13, 2009 we had placed her at a highly rated Alzheimer’s facility in Round Rock. My first choice was Serenity, but they did not have an opening at the time. Having had my mother in a 32 bed facility, with a 1 caregiver to 8 patients ratio for 10 months, I can truly say, my loved one did not get the care she desperately needed. Serenity has definitely been a blessing for my mother, as well as for myself and my family. We are able to sleep at night without worry for her health and safety. My mother came to Serenity on several mind altering drugs, supposedly to keep her calm, which had almost put her into a vegetative state. I am elated to say she is now off of ALL those drugs! Jim, Carly, Dorthea, and Patricia have taken excellent care of her. They meet her every need and therefore she is happy and comfortable.

The Serenity home is truly a home in every way and the staff is just like family. I am so very thankful my mother is a resident at Serenity Home Care.

Elnora is my wife and has now been living at Serenity over 6 months. My mother Sally began her stay on October 21, 2008 In those early days the staff at Serenity let her become sort of a hostess, let me emphasize that she assumed that duty out of love for the residents and the caregivers. She immediately had "Purpose" and fullfilled her self appointed tasks because she wanted to. As months passed the Dementia became more pronounced and it took some of her abilities to serve away. It really was "Home" and the caregivers at Serenity treated her like their own mother. My hope for her was to be treated with dignity and respect, but she received so very much more. My mom, aged 92, with dementia, has lived at Serenity Home for over 2 years, during which time she has been exceptionally content and happy. At Serenity Home, the focus is on individualized attention to each resident and keeping each one happy and comfortable. With love and nurturing, caretakers develop a care plan specially suited for each resident, which changes as the resident goes through various cycles of life and disease. With the ratio of caretakers to residents always at 1:3, each elder is guaranteed the attention, dignity, and respect he or she needs and deserves. The atmosphere is truly one of family. Family members and friends of residents are always made to feel welcome, as if they are visiting their loved one in his or her own home. The home is maintained at the highest standards of cleanliness and functionality. Residents have access to home health aides, nurses, and a doctor who makes housecalls. In addition, the most advanced equipment (hospital beds, gerry chairs, bathing accessories, etc.) is readily available if needed.

Most importantly, Serenity Home offers loved ones of each resident a true sense that their elder is safe, secure, and well-cared for. Knowledgeable staff , organization, and professionalism ensure that you are making the best choice possible for your elder when you decide to place him or her in Serenity Home. My wife endured Alzheimer for almost five years and had become difficult to care for at the facility where she was staying. She was given an eviction notice, and with that on her record, it appeared there was little chance of finding suitable care for her.
